What we do

Six things we are asked for most

Every job is quoted in writing, permitted where the Manitoba Electrical Code requires it, and left tidy. No surprise line items on the invoice.

Panel & service upgrades

Moving from 60 or 100 amp to a 200 amp service, replacing failed or recalled panels, and coordinating the disconnect and reconnect with the utility.

  • Load calculations and permit drawings
  • Mast, meter socket and grounding
  • Aluminum branch wiring remediation

Renovation & basement wiring

Rough-in and finish for basement developments, kitchen and bath renovations, additions and garage builds, scheduled around your other trades.

  • Permits pulled and inspections booked
  • Arc-fault and GFCI protection
  • Pot lights, pucks and dimming

EV charger installation

Level 2 chargers in attached and detached garages, including the load assessment that tells you whether your existing service can carry one.

  • Hardwired or 14-50 receptacle
  • Load management where service is tight
  • Rebate paperwork support

Commercial fit-ups

Tenant improvements for offices, clinics, restaurants and retail along Portage, Pembina and the Exchange, worked around your opening date.

  • Distribution, panels and sub-metering
  • Data, security and low-voltage rough-in
  • After-hours work to avoid downtime

Lighting & LED retrofits

Warehouse and parkade relamping, exterior and signage lighting, and controls that cut consumption without leaving dark corners.

  • Photometric layout before you buy
  • Occupancy and daylight controls
  • Efficiency Manitoba incentive filings

Standby & backup power

Automatic standby generators and transfer switches sized so a January outage does not take your heat, sump or freezer with it.

  • Whole-home and essential-circuit options
  • Automatic transfer switch commissioning
  • Annual service and load-bank testing

Who you are hiring

A small crew that answers its own phone

Northline started in a garage off Fife Street with one van and a licence. We still run lean on purpose: the person who quotes your job is the person who shows up to do it, and you get their cell number rather than a dispatch queue.

Most of our work comes from homeowners in River Heights, St. Vital and Transcona, plus a steady list of property managers who need someone reliable when a panel starts tripping at seven on a Sunday morning. We turn down more work than we take so the jobs we accept get finished properly.

  • Written quotes with a fixed price, not a range
  • Permits pulled and inspections booked by us
  • Boots off, drop sheets down, debris hauled out
  • Two-year workmanship warranty on every install

The paperwork, up front

  • Contractor licence MB E-0000 (placeholder)
  • Liability $5,000,000
  • WCB Manitoba Clearance on request
  • Service area Winnipeg + 60 km
  • Regular hours Mon–Fri, 7am–5pm
  • Emergency 24 hours, every day

Certificates of insurance and clearance letters are sent with every commercial quote.

How a job runs

Four steps, no guessing

You should know what happens next at every stage. This is the same sequence whether it is a single receptacle or a full commercial fit-up.

01

Call or send photos

Most quotes start with three photos: the panel, the meter and the area you want worked on. We reply the same business day.

02

Site visit and fixed quote

We measure, check the load and write a fixed price. It lists the materials, the permit cost and the days we need the space.

03

Permits and the work

We pull the electrical permit, book the utility disconnect if one is needed, and give you a start date we actually keep.

04

Inspection and handover

The inspector signs off, you get the closed permit, a labelled panel directory and photos of anything now behind drywall.

What clients say

Referrals do most of our advertising

Our 1952 panel finally gave up in February. Northline had a temporary feed in that afternoon and the new 200 amp service inspected within the week.

D. Chartrand, Norwood Flats

They relamped three of our buildings over two weekends without a single tenant complaint, and the incentive paperwork was filed before we asked about it.

M. Oyelaran, property manager

The quote was the price. That has not been my experience with other trades, and it is why the whole renovation went to them.

S. Friesen, River Heights
